Blood sample for infectious disease tests - Qualification.
Blood samples of potential deceased donors for tissues and cells are taken to minimise the risk of transmitting infectious diseases to other recipients.Collection of the blood samples for testing are taken no longer than 24 hours after death and it is recognised the volume of blood, colloids and crystolloids infused prior to death may affect the test results. A standardised formula (e.g. Europe, USA) is available in this healthcare sector to determine the acceptability of a blood sample for infectious marker testing, when infusions have taken place. The algorithm is based on values related to blood volume, plasma volume and…

Duke Activity Status Index
Along with the index, if you could add the oxygen uptake value for that score below the index, it will be helpful.

Percutaneous umbilical transfusion in severe rhesus isoimmunization: resolution of fetal hydrops

Percutaneous umbilical transfusion in severe rhesus isoimmunization: resolution of fetal hydrops.
Socol ML, MacGregor SN, Pielet BW, Tamura RK, Sabbagha RE
The rhesus-sensitized fetus with the worst prognosis is one with early onset of hydropic changes. Percutaneous umbilical blood sampling now enables access to the fetal circulation and thereby allows more precise evaluation of fetal anemia and direct intravascular transfusion. A variation of this technique was used in three pregnancies complicated by fetal pericardial effusion, scalp edema, and abdominal ascites before 26 weeks' gestation. Twelve ultrasound-guided percutaneous transfusions of 30 to…

A simple method to estimate volume for fetal intravascular transfusions
Fetal. Diagn. Ther. vol. 13(2) pp. 94-7
A simple method to estimate volume for fetal intravascular transfusions.
Giannina G, Moise KJ, Dorman K
We derived a constant termed the transfusion coefficient to simplify the estimation of the fetal intravascular transfusion volume. The product of the estimated fetal weight (g) and 0.02 (transfusion coefficient), estimates the transfusion volume (ml) required to increase the fetal hematocrit by approximately 10 percentage points. Our estimation was comparable to Mandelbrot's technique and better than Plecas' method for estimating fetal transfusion volumes. Utilizing the transfusion coefficient to estimate the intravascular transfusion volume for an anemic fetus…

The 1800 rule for insulin sensitivity
A calc where you input current and desired blood sugar, total insulin and it tells you how much more insulin you need
Insulin sensitivity factor =1800/total insulin in day
To apply we do this calculation:
(Current blood sugar- target bs)/ insulin sensitivity factorA useful feature would also be to allow a range of 1500 to 2000 for the correction factor as a drop down menu, so I could choose the proper one according to the type of insulin
