Successor to Harris-Benedict
Harris Benedict equation is not used much anymore. There are other and better. See the evidence analysis library from the american dietetic association for better energy calculations ... They were tested against indirect calorimetry.

Would like to see multiple formulas for energy expenditure to make a choice most appropriate for a particular patient. I would be happy to provide them with documentation.
I've used medcalc for years on various Palms--great job -

Very good idea, many doctors or Medical students are on need of these formulas
