CHALICE
There are currently three main peadiatric head injury rules. You only have one the CATCH. It would be good to have the PECARN rule (Kuppermann Lancet 2009) and CHALICE (Dunning et al Arch Dis Child 2006) for completeness. In fact the CATCH rule was developed in 3000 children while the other two used >20000.

DECAF score
The DECAF score: predicting hospital mortality in exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease
Steer J et al
These researchers analysed admission data and in-hospital deaths among 920 consecutive patients hospitalised for a COPD exacerbation to identify outcome predictors; mean FEV1 was 43.6% of predicted and 10.4% of patients died in hospital. They then combined the five strongest mortality predictors to form the ‘DECAF’ score. DECAF exhibited excellent discrimination for mortality (area under the receiver operator characteristic curve 0.86 [95% CI 0.82, 0.89]). Moreover, DECAF performed better than other clinical prediction tools; for example, it was a significantly stronger predictor of…

CRASH
These prognostic models may be used as an aid to estimate mortality at 14 days and death and severe disability at six months in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). The predictions are based on the average outcome in adult patients with Glasgow coma score (GCS) of 14 or less, within 8 hours of injury, and can only support - not replace - clinical judgment. Although individual names of countries can be selected in the models, the estimates are based on two alternative sets of models (high income countries or low & middle income countries).
