    While TSAT = s-Fe/TIBC. Both these are given in the same unit. For example mymol/l

    TIBC= transferrin x 2
    Then a conversion of transferrin from G/L to mymol/L would be useful

  18. Suggestions for pregnancy weight calculations

    I like your old med Calc better. This one needs the BMI calculator to include by gender. And I would suggest to see if you can add the recommendations for weight gain in pregnancy by BMI by the Institute of Medicine.
    Also have a table with recommended wt for women by height. It also categorizes underweight, normal weight, overweight, and obesity by BMI ranges. It would be great to get this onto MedCalc.
    I use this table to quickly use pre-pregnancy weight and obesity category to go to the Institute of Medicine table to make recommend weight gain in pregnancy.

    Prediction of mortality in patients with abdominal aortic aneurysms on hospital presentation (Australian Society of Ultrasound medicine).

    Hb<90 g/L,
    age >76,
    history of loss of consciousness,
    creatinine >190mmol/L,
    ischaemic changes on ECG.

    Each factor one point. 1 point total 37% mortality, 2 points 72% mortality, 3+ points 100% mortality rate.
