Drug dosage formula need to come back!
As of version 3.0.5, the following formulas were removed:
Calvert
Corticosteroids Converter
NAC Dosing
Opioid Converter
Pediatric Resuscitation Doses
Dose Calculator (was planned for future versions)
Apparently they were forced by Apple to remove them to comply with the App Store policy...
However, Epocrates and many other medical apps have drug dosage calculators. Why then should a great app like MedCalc not be allowed to have drug dose calculators?
I don't know the details of why the formulas had to be removed, but vote if you want the formulas back!

Complex algorithmic process but based only on time of dose, time of level, staggered dose (yes or no), total ingestion dose. Patient weight, INR, creat, ALT.
THIS WOULD GIVE OUT PUT In terms of appropriate NAC administration. Let me know if possible, I can ping over the hospital algorithm if required. Ambuckley@live.co.uk

Opioid converter would be great

Thanks for the info, Pascal!
Instead of removing the calculators and tables all together, is there any way you can leave the tables and information as references? For instance, for Peds Resuscitation Does, Corticosteroids and Opioid Converters, it would be useful just to have the tables in the app even if it didn't calculate it for us. Also, perhaps you can put a link to websites that have calculators, for example:
http://www.globalrph.com/narcoticonv.htm for opioid converter,
http://www.globalrph.com/corticocalc.htm for corticosteroid converter. -
We would obviously like to bring these formulas back. The difference between Epocrates and MedCalc is that Epocrates is a large, public US company and MedCalc is just two Swiss doctors. We have traded multiple emails and phone calls with Apple, there is nothing we can do.

That would be a nice addition. However, Apple prohibits non-pharma/non-hospital/non-university app developers (i.e. people like us) from publishing dose calculators. Therefore we will have to shelve this idea until Apple comes around.

Hola estimados.
En los hospitales públicos de Chile lo que mas se ocupa como anticoagulante oral es el Acenocumarol, que se vende bajo el nombre comercial de Neosintron (más que la warfarina).
Sería bueno que incluyeran el cálculo de este fármaco.
Saludos

For the time being, Apple does not allow non-pharma/non-medical-institution app developers to publish dosage calculators: http://medcalc.medserver.be/dosegate.html
We're very unhappy about this whole situation but there is nothing we can do. :(

Where can I find the dose calculator?

(desired/have)
Also liquid dosage calculations:
(Desired/have) x quantity
Maybe build the 2 together, epocrates has this listed in its Rx free edition, but save me the hassle & battery life of flipping back and forth :)
Would be listed under the nurses category in this app (used quite often)
